To have a possibility for fast discussion of this question we have prepared the same book as HTML pages.
We used free Web-Oracle-Web interface on the standard Oracle language PL/SQL and change it to full HTML 2.0 with some extentions for browser Netscape 2.0. We has also transfered this interface from Sun to the DEC Alpha with OpenVMS and corrected some problems on in CERN httpd daemon, connected with POST method in HTML. Information in database have the TeX commands and we has prepared simple TeX2HTML processor written in PL/SQL.
The another part of this WEB project is the possibility for external users to include some information in our HTML pages: corrections, remarks and so on. Users will use HTML form and put the information into the Oracle. After that because the pages produced dynamically from Oracle, the user will see the new page and his/her comments on it. In summary, we have produced a preliminary version of the system which may be developed.
This WWW-Oracle project started in the beginning of November. You can look at this preliminary version.
