INTEGRATION OF THE DIGITAL RF SYSTEM WITH THE TTF CONTROL SYSTEM


The Distributed Object Oriented Control System (DOOCS) has been implemented at the TESLA Test Facility (TTF) as a uniform software core to develop DOOCS controls and to combine different existing linac subsystems~[1]. The DOOCS architecture, client API and server libraries provide the convenient media (tools) for designing, developing and integration of the various kinds of accelerator control subsystems based on a client-server model. The design of the Digital RF Control System at the TTF is based on a commercial Digital Signal Processor (DSP) module and additional set of hardware (ADCs, DACs etc). The fast feedback algorithm has been implemented on multiple TMS320C40 DSPs. This Low Level RF Control System is completely integrated with the TTF control system using the DOOCS architecture. The DSP server contains the set of objects that communicate with each other and with DSP hardware and provides the DOOCS interface to the TTF RF system. DOOCS comprises the interfacing features which allow LabVIEW and MatLab based applications to communicate with the DOOCS servers. A set of client applications which realize the user interface to the %\linebreak RF System is available. The client communicate with DOOCS servers and are used by RF operators to control and monitor the system. Some of these clients are LabVIEW based and control the parameters in the Low Level RF Control System. Others are ADC measurement tools for on-line monitoring of the RF system signals. MatLab applications for the RF System calibration, identification of system parameters, saving/restoring system setup parameters and calculating indirect cavities parameters have been created and are used for system diagnostics and contrlo. For the operator convenience the knob control are available.
