On Metrological Approach to Design and Manufacturing
Protvino, 1996.- p.24, figs. 12, refs.:7.
One of the most general requirements usually imposed upon the technical construction is the principal measurability of its geometry. The traditional metrological treatment of the subject leaves hidden an important feature: the non-measurability is equivalent to indefiniteness of design or unability to proper functioning, the metrological test being just a method to reveal these flaws. There are grounds to believe that the preference given to the metrological approach over functional, along with some ambiguities in design notation, causes a lot of problems in formalization and automatization of design and manufacturing.
