Longitudinal Motion of Proton Beam in Booster

The paper presents computational and experimental researches of longitudinal beam motion including RF capture into Booster – fast-cycling proton synchrotron in IHEP. At simulation the existing features of magnetic field cycle of the accelerator are taken into account. Therefore the time dependence of RF accelerating voltage and beam injection time on the field cycle are optimized to receive the maximal particle capture into accelerating process. The paper demonstrates experimental results showing near 100% beam capture into Booster.
