Study of the Nature of iota/eta(1440) in the Approach of Chiral Perturbation Theory
Protvino, 1997. - p. 20, refs.: 24.

The nature of $\iota/\eta(1440)$ is analysed in the framework of the hypothesis on its one-resonance structure. Assuming that $\iota/\eta(1440)$ is formed due to the mixing of $0^{-+}$ glueball and the nearest quarkic states ($\eta$, $\eta'$, and their radial excitations), two upper estimations are obtained for the width of the decay $\iota/\eta(1440) --> K^* K$: the one for the case when $\iota/\eta(1440)$ is mostly a glueball and another one when $\iota/\eta(1440)$ is mostly radial excitation of the $s\bar s$-state. Both estimations are obtained in the framework of chiral perturbation theory with taking into account the PDG data on the vector mesons and pseudoscalar state K(1460) which is interpreted as a radial excitation of the K meson. It is shown that the glueball interpretation of the $\iota/\eta(1440)$ is not compatible with the combined OBELIX and Crystal Barrel data. In case when $\iota/\eta(1440)$ is mostly a radial excitation of the $s\bar s$-state the obtained estimation does not contradict the experimental data.
