The influence of various covering light-reflection materials on light collection for scintillating counters, with wavelength-shifting optical fibers readout, is studied. A cheap way of chemical modification of a scintillator surface of any structure and size, made on a polystyrene basis is found, which ensurs light reflection and light yield not conceding a synthetic paper TYVEK used for this purpose.
