Charged Particle Detector on the Basis of Proportional Tubes with Cathode-Pad Readout | ||

Charged particle detector on the basis of proportional tubes with cathode-pad readout as well as beam test results are presented. Spatial resolution 1.25~mm along the anode wires has been obtained for the pad dimensiones of 2.2 x 2.2~cm$^2$ and the anode to cathode distance of 1.1~cm. The simulation model of the detector using the measured pad response function is proposed and compaired with the experimental data. It is also applied to calculate a two-track resolution. The obtained results admit the use of the detector as a large area multi-particle two-coordinate detector in a wide class of experiments.
