Detailed studies of the main characteristics of an active target, built of segmented silicon counters, were fulfilled. They were based on the analysis of simulated data. Main features of interactions of protons with silicon nuclei were considered. Comparison of signals from hadronic interactions in counters and from beam particle passing was done. Obtained results allowed to work out effective trigger algorithms to select events with hadron-nuclei interactions in an active target and to find the counter with such an interaction.
