The helicity amplitudes of the process $\gamma_{\uparrow} + p_{\uparrow} \to (1^- \to 0^- \, 0^- ) + p $ with polarized photons and polarized target protons are analysed at small values of the production angle $\theta$. Large polarization asymmetries are predicted under certain kinematic conditions.
