This paper describes beam dynamic simulations and design studies for a project of linear accelerator with a radiofrequency quadrupole focusing (RFQ). Proton linac for 5 MeV, the proposed injector for the Center of proton-beam therapy in the Botkin’s Hospital (Moscow), is described. This accelerator will consist of two sections. The front-end section is a conventional RFQ, the second one being an RFQ DTL structure. Sections would be assembled as H-type cavities.
