Curvilinear profiles in industrial drawing are usually described as tabulated set of coordinates. Such a description is sometimes ill-defined, resulting in subsequent manufacturing problems. Origins, technological manifestations and detection methods of ill-posed curve representations are considered in the article. Methods of a more accurate curve description by discrete data as well as quality evaluation methods for drawings, making use of curvilinear profiles, are proposed.
