Introduction
The purpose of this communication is to present a coherent summary of the author's theoretical proposals1 concerning the new unstable particles.
Section 2 is devoted to some background material on elementary particles; the object there is to introduce the point of view adopted in the work that follows. In Section 3 the fundamental ideas about displaced multiplets are given, and in the succeeding section these are applied to the interpretation of known particles. A scheme is thus set up, which is used in Section 5 to predict certain results of experiments involving the new particles.
