Motivation
The experiments of Tuve, Heydenburg and Hafstad and those of White are discussed by means of the standard theory of scattering in central fields. The theoretical formulas are presented in a form convenient for numerical computation and are supplemented by tables. (Extracted from the introductory part of the paper.).
