Über den Einfluß der Geschwindigkeitsabhängigkeit der Electronenmasse auf den Zeemaneffekt / Zeeman-Effect and the Dependence of Electron-Mass on the Velocity

Abstracts
On the assumption that the electrons of the K layer contribute essentially to the impulse-moment and to the magnetic-moment of the atom, we ought to expect an influence of electron-mass variations with velocity upon the Zeeman-effect in chemically homologous elements, particularly in the alkali metals; the Zeeman-effect would then depend notably on the atomic number. From the absence of such differences, and also on other grounds, it is concluded that the above assumption cannot be supported. (Science Abstracts. 1925. 1410. A. D.).
