Motivation
Low-accuracy experimental estimates of the rest mass of the neutrino (A. H. Rosenfeld et al., Rev. Mod. Phys. 37 (1965) 633) yield m(νe) < 200 eV/c2 for the electronic neutrino and m(νμ) < 2.5 ´ 106 eV/c2 for the muonic neutrino. Cosmological considerations connected with the hot model of the Universe make it possible to strengthen greatly the second inequality. (Extracted from the introductory
part of the paper.).
