Partial Waves with Complex Orbital Momenta and the Asymptotic Behavior of the Scattering Amplitude

Abstracts
It is shown that in relativistic theory the partial wave amplitudes fl analytical functions of the angular momentum l. The asymptotic behavior of the scattering amplitude as a function of the transferred momentum is determined by the nearest singularities of fl. An expression for the scattering amplitude at arbitrary transferred momenta is obtained in terms of fl and satisfies the Mandelstam equation which relates the spectral function and the absorption terms. The behavior of the scattering amplitude at high energies is discussed.
