Data comments
This paper gives a summary of a linear accelerator work at Stanford which began in about 1935 with W. W. Hansen. It was the development of a klystron during the war which allowed the development of the high energy LINAC after the war. Partial operation of the 1 GeV LINAC was begun at 1951, at reduced energy.
